The A's winning a game in blowout fashion over the Braves on Monday night shouldn't deter us from continuing to pick on the A's. In fact, it only makes me more excited for Tuesday's fade. They are now 11-45 and have broken the 11-game losing streak. Plus, the Braves were on Sunday night baseball and then had to fly across the country to play in a game that started at 5:00 local time in Oakland. After a full day of rest, the team that hits .312/.372/.570 against lefties gets southpaw J.P. Sears. Bryce Elder and his 2.01 ERA start for the Braves. Blowout city. I'm playing the run line (-1.5, -145).
The Braves have an easier schedule in game two, after playing at 5pm local time on Monday, just hours after the Sunday night game in Atlanta finished. JP Sears has been improving over his last few starts, but faces a Braves lineup that is ranked #1 in OPS vs LHP in May, with an eye popping 1.092 OPS, .358 avg and 18 HR. Sears has allowed five HR's in his last four starts, and four HR's at home this year. Bryce Elder has five straight starts of two or less runs allowed, with three quality starts in there. He consistently gets into the 6th inning and should do so again vs the A's.
