The Guardians basically tanked Thursday's big game vs. the White Sox by pushing back starting pitcher Triston McKenzie to start this equally big game and series opener against Minnesota. McKenzie has a 2.84 ERA at home and pitched seven shutout innings last time out at the Twins. The one good thing about Thursday was the Guards didn't use any key relievers in the blowout. The Twins did use their key guys in a home win over Kansas City. Minnesota leading hitter Luis Arraez wasn't able to start with a hamstring injury but did pinch-hit. Maybe he won't be able to start again (although my guess is he was being saved for this series and can at least DH). On the mound tonight, Bailey Ober (1-2, 4.01) will be making his return to the Twins after missing over three months with his groin strain. Honestly, this ML seems a little low with the pitching matchup.
