Tarik Skubal has been dominant this month, and his only blemish was still 7 innings where he allowed 3 runs but that was his second time against the same lineup in a week. Earlier this season, he was hit hard by the Twins but that was in Minnesota and the Twins will be without Byron Buxton and Carlos Correa today. No Javy Baez for the Tigers but I think that will actually improve that lineup considering AJ Hinch insists on batting him so high in the order despite him constantly struggling. Bailey Ober has been solid but this should be a low scoring game regardless. I like the Tigers at home.
Byron Buxton, Max Kepler, Luis Arraez and Carlos Correa (on COVID list) are all out for the Twins so I'll take the gift that is the Detroit runline at -160 while the Tigers are still moneyline underdogs behind lefty Tarik Skubal (3-2, 2.44 ERA). He was 2-0 with a 1.45 ERA in five May starts. Skubal was roughed up a bit in late April at the Twins, but they had a much stronger lineup that day. Javy Baez isn't playing for the Tigers, but he's in a horrendous slump anyways. Detroit has won seven of its past nine at home.
