Understanding Public and Money

Sure, the Yankees haven't been able to play consistent baseball thus far this season, but they send Gerrit Cole to the hill against possibly the worst team in baseball. The Tigers are last in the AL in runs, batting average, on-base percentage and slugging percentage. As such, it's hard to see them generating any offense at all against Cole, so the run line (-1.5 at -170) is an easy play here. It really should be a blowout, assuming at least some of the Yankees' powerful bats show up, so looking for a two-run victory is easy money.
Not often a team will be so heavily favored that it's -160 on the runline at -1.5, but I don't see how this is NOT a blowout win for New York behind ace Gerrit Cole (3-1, 1.71). Seriously, a no-hitter would not shock me against the weak Detroit lineup and with the Tigers having played a doubleheader in Chicago on Thursday and then traveling overnight. Cole has allowed two earned runs or fewer in each start so far and his 50Ks are the most in franchise history through a pitcher's first five starts of a season. Cole has a 2.23 ERA in seven career starts vs. the Tigers, who start Tarik Skubal (0-3, 5.21). He'll serve more as a long opener.
