Lance McCullers Jr. will be making his first postseason appearance this season with his start today. McCullers Jr. is on a 17.2 Earned run less streak (allowed four unearned) in last three starts, however the Astros lost all three games. Chris Bassitt was 5-2 with a 2.29 ERA this season and he won his first postseason start against the White Sox throwing seven innings of one run ball. The Athletics won seven out of 10 times they played each other this season.

Both pitchers have been tremendous in their home parks, but have struggled everywhere else. This will be the fourth time this year the Astros have seen Chris Bassitt. The temperature will be in the 90s in Los Angeles, meaning fly balls will carry at least 30 to 40 feet further.
