WR tiers for 2025 Fantasy Football rankings: Ja'Marr Chase clear No. 1 overall, but watch out for one key rookie
There's one rookie receiver in for a massive year, according to SportsLine expert R.J. White
By any account, Ja'Marr Chase is coming off one of the best receiving seasons in Fantasy history. He was the first player since Calvin Johnson in 2011 to average at least 100 receiving yards and a touchdown for 15+ games, and he had 31 more receptions than the former Detroit superstar's huge season. He became the fourth player ever and only the second since 1951 (Randy Moss, 2003) to score 17 receiving touchdowns while averaging 100 yards per game. For his historic performance, Chase finished third in Offensive Player of the Year voting behind Saquon Barkley and Lamar Jackson.
The consensus No. 1 overall Fantasy pick hasn't lived up to that billing in recent years, but there's every reason to think Chase is the safest top pick in this year's Fantasy Football drafts. Unlike Justin Jefferson, he doesn't have an unknown commodity at quarterback. Unlike CeeDee Lamb, he won't be adjusting to having a quality WR2 on his offense (though it hasn't seemed to affect Chase's production at all). And unlike Barkley, there aren't the same workload concerns for a player coming off a 127-reception season as there are for a running back who had 482 touches between the regular season and playoffs last year. Chase is comfortably our No. 1 overall player for Fantasy Football drafts in 2025.
