Warriors vs. Knicks Tuesday NBA injury report, odds, free pick: New York on seven-game straight up and against the spread win streak

The Warriors make their only visit of the season to Madison Square Garden tonight.

The defending NBA champion Golden State Warriors have looked completely disinterested on the road for most of the season, as evidenced by their shockingly bad 3-14 away record -- the league's worst. That record seems likely to worsen to 3-15 after tonight's game at the New York Knicks. The Warriors remain without Stephen Curry and Andrew Wiggins and also are listing guard Donte DiVincenzo as doubtful. The Knicks are -5 at Caesars Sportsbook and have won and covered the spread in a season-high seven straight games. Click here for model picks.

Golden State actually just notched that third road win, a 126-110 upset at Toronto on Sunday, but the Raptors are free-falling right now. Curry and Wiggins both missed that game, but Jordan Poole blew up for a career-high 43 points. Poole topped 30 points for the fifth time this season and 16th time in his career. It was the Warriors' first win overall in five tries this year without the injured Curry, who is still at least a few weeks away from a return.

Poole should be the primary offensive option tonight and is set at over/under 26.5 points. He has averaged 30.8 points in the five games Curry has missed, leading Golden State in scoring in each. Poole is one of the NBA's top free-throw shooters and has made 40 of his past 44.

The Warriors apparently will be without DiVincenzo as he's dealing with a non-COVID illness. He has been starting of late and playing heavy minutes, so that backcourt will be very thinned out. Coach Steve Kerr may go big and insert Jonathan Kuminga into the starting lineup. Kuminga played just five minutes off the bench Sunday, his lowest total since Nov. 11.

Golden State has won eight straight at Madison Square Garden. The last time the Knicks defeated the Warriors there was on Feb. 27, 2013 (109-105).

New York is healthy other than forward Obi Toppin, who hasn't played since Dec. 7 due to a knee injury and isn't particularly close to a return. The Knicks were three games under .500 when this seven-game winning streak started. They have vaulted into the sixth seed in the East, the final guaranteed playoff spot.

During the streak, the Knicks are allowing just 98.3 points per game (best in league since Dec. 4) and opponents are hitting 27.6% from deep (also No. 1 in NBA). Julius Randle is averaging 26.7 points and 11.4 rebounds, and RJ Barrett 22.3 points and 6.4 rebounds in the run for New York. Randle is set at over/under 24.5 points tonight and Barrett 22.5.

The seven-game against-the-spread winning streak is the second-longest in the league behind Orlando's eight in a row.
