Updated odds for who signs Kenny Britt

The Browns cut mega-free agent bust Kenny Britt on Friday. Which team picks up the former Pro Bowl receiver for the stretch run?

As the Browns begin a new era under new General Manager John Dorsey, they cut ties with a frustrating part of their past on Friday.

Cleveland waived receiver Kenny Britt, one of the top free agent signings in the 2017 class who inked with the Browns for four years and $32.5 million, solidifying him as one of the largest free agent busts in recent history.

The ninth-year player out of Rutgers came to Cleveland off a 1,000-yard receiving campaign in Los Angeles in 2016. But he never clicked with any of Cleveland's quarterbacks and appeared in just nine games, catching just 18 passes for 233 yards and two touchdowns.

The winless Browns are out $17 million that were guaranteed to Britt, but do get the advantage of moving on from a player who was unproductive on the field and a distraction off it as they move in yet another new direction.

The winless Browns are out $17 million that were guaranteed to Britt, but do get the advantage of moving on from a player who was unproductive on the field and a distraction off it as they move in yet another new direction.

While Britt's stock took a huge hit this year, talent reigns supreme in the NFL, and a big, physical receiver one year removed from a 1,000-yard season will likely draw some interest. Britt cleared waivers on Monday and is now able to sign with any team.

The Greek Sportsbook came out with some odds as soon as Britt was cut last week, and legendary oddsmaker Kenny White, a SportsLine expert, who has set odds for some of the world's largest casinos, came out with some fresh odds on Monday for where (or if) Britt will land next.

Odds for who signs Kenny Britt (from oddsmaker Kenny White):

    Patriots +200
    Rams +300
    Vikings +500
    Panthers +800
    Lions +1000
    Titans +1500
    Field +300
    No team: +1000

The pick: Nobody turns nothing into something like the New England Patriots, so they're the easiest selection, but the best value is the Carolina Panthers at +800.

Only one receiver on Carolina's roster has more than 20 catches, and the Panthers have most of the pieces to make a deep run in the postseason this year. There are plenty of questions about chemistry and how he'd fit on the offense, but if the Panthers think he's an upgrade as a second or third option at receiver, maybe they take a flyer if Britt clears waivers and can be picked up on the cheap.
