Today's top picks: Why Baylor will cover against UNC among best bets, plus more March Madness and women's college basketball picks for Saturday

SportsLine's proven experts share their favorite bets on the Early Edge podcast for Saturday, March 19

Allan Bell is joined by Mike McClure, Justin Perri, Micah Roberts and Calvin Wetzel on the Early Edge podcast, powered by SportsLine. Get highlighted plays for March Madness and women's college basketball for Saturday, March 19, and you can stream the show live every morning on the SportsLine YouTube page.

Mike starts off with a little talk about Formula One, which gets started with the Bahrain Grand Prix on Sunday (11 a.m. ET). Usual favorite Lewis Hamilton is +850 at some books to win the first race, because Mercedes has struggled early in qualifying. The Ferraris are doing well, and while the Haas teams have a relationship with Ferrari, they have been in the middle of the pack so far. McClure says bettors looking to make wagers or pick Fantasy F1 lineups could find bargains on the Haas teams.

Justin wastes no time jumping into March Madness, looking at the conference trends so far. He sees the Big 12 slowing things down, with only two of six games going over the totals. It looks like these teams are going to drop the pace and play defense, so bettors should keep that in mind. On the flip side, the WCC had all three games go over, and "that conference obviously has a big focus on offense," Perri says.

Calvin is all over the Women's NCAA Tournament, and he is looking for the Bridgeport Region to be upset central. No. 11 Princeton vs. sixth-seeded Kentucky and No. 12 UMass vs. No. 5 Notre Dame should be close ones, and IUPUI could be dangerous as a 13 seed, facing No. 4 Oklahoma on Saturday.

Micah wants to talk about NASCAR, with new paving on the track in Atlanta for Sunday's Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500 (3 p.m. ET). The new banking and changes on the front and back stretches, combined with the new car package, could make for pack racing on the 1.5-mile track. This could make for some tough betting, so Roberts is sticking with smaller stakes on his NASCAR bets.

Allan starts off the picks with the SportsLine Play of the Day, with Max Gorenstein backing Providence -2.5 against Richmond (6:10 p.m. ET). "This spread is disrespectful to the Friars," Mad Max says on the site. They play strong defense and face a Spiders team that is lucky to be in the NCAA Tournament, so Gorenstein is all over this small spread.

Mike is taking a money line parlay in college basketball, going with Baylor over North Carolina (12:10 p.m. ET) and Tennessee to beat Michigan. He says he has edges on both teams against the spread, but he likes the parlay at +102. "I really love the Big 12 in this tournament," McClure says. The Vols are the better team in all areas, and he expects them to continue their run, as well.

Justin also is high on the Big 12, as he mentioned, and he is backing Baylor, as well. He likes the Bears -5.5, with most models showing this as a decent edge. His model has it at around seven points. "I really think Baylor minus five-and-a half, under that two-possession line, is a gift," Perri says.

In the NCAA Women's Tournament, Calvin is taking UConn -22.5 against Mercer, and he says the line is moving all over the place at most books. "I'm playing it if it starts with a two," Wetzel says. "This should at least be in the 30's." With reigning National Player of the Year Paige Bueckers and the rest of the Huskies healthy, they should have no trouble blowing out the Bears.

Micah loves Saint Mary's and even says they are going to the FInal Four, so he is definitely backing the Gaels +3 against UCLA (7:10 p.m. ET). "I think they're the best team in the bracket," Roberts says. "I think they're gonna prove it today." Saint Mary's plays basketball the way it's supposed to be played, with everyone in the right positions on both ends, and they make their shots.
