Today's top picks: Auburn vs. Florida among best bets, plus more college basketball, golf and MMA picks for Saturday

SportsLine's proven experts share their favorite bets on the Early Edge podcast for Saturday, Feb. 19

Allan Bell is joined by Mike McClure, Micah Roberts, Justin Perri and Andrew Gombas on the Early Edge podcast, powered by SportsLine. Get highlighted plays for college basketball, golf and MMA for Saturday, Feb. 19, and you can stream the show live every morning on the SportsLine YouTube page.

It's a Saturday in February, so that means tons of college basketball, but it's also Daytona 500 and NBA All-Star weekend. The Genesis Invitational PGA Tour event continues at Riviera, and there are two excellent fight cards in MMA. There are plenty of story lines to consider, and the experts have you covered.

Micah hits on some of the things bettors should be looking at in NASCAR, with the new car making for an interesting start to the season. For Sunday's Daytona 500, he says "literally, 30 of the 40 cars can win, you've just got to figure out which one it is." Roberts says the Fords looked better in practice and the Duels, with the cars locking together and able to pull away. That means bettors should be looking at drivers like Ryan Newman and Joey Logano.

Justin has his day all mapped out on a massive college basketball slate, with Illinois vs. Michigan State at noon ET kicking things off. MSU is 14-2 SU in its past 16 games at home, and he likes that trend to continue. Texas Tech heads to Texas at 12:30 p.m. ET, and it has won just three of its past 20 road games in the series. It will be interesting to see if the red-hot Red Raiders can keep rolling and buck that trend.

Perri also is intrigued by the Auburn vs. Florida matchup (2 p.m. ET). The Tigers are on an 0-13 skid at UF, but Auburn is playing at a very high level right now and is 10-3-1 ATS in its last 14 SEC games. Ohio State hosts Iowa at 2:30 p.m. ET, and the Buckeyes are on an 11-0 run at home, and Perri expects them to pull off another win. Justin expects Tennessee vs. Arkansas (4 p.m. ET) to be the game of the day. The Vols are on an 0-6 slide at Arkansas, but they have won eight straight conference games.

Andrew is hyped for the double MMA night, with Bellator 274 and UFC Fight Night Vegas 48 scheduled to go at the same time Saturday. The UFC card was changed because of visa issues with one of the fighters, but Johnny Walker vs. Jamahal Hill will headline the card. Bellator features Neiman Gracie, of the storied MMA family, facing Logan Storley in the organization's first five-round, non-title main event.

Mike is locked in on the PGA Tour, and he expects leader Joaquin Niemann (16 under) and Justin Thomas (11 under) to keep up their solid play. But three players are doing well tee-to-green but struggling to putt and could turn things around on the weekend. Russell Knox, Max Homa and Cameron Smith all fall into this category. "If they can figure something out on the putting greens, look out," McClure says.

McClure goes with the Genesis Invitational in his picks, taking Smith -115 in a matchup with Viktor Hovland in the third round. Hovland is not an easy player to bet against, but Mike says Hovland is 7 under for the tournament and gained all seven strokes in the second round off a great putting day. "He's not someone who's known for the flat stick," Mike says, and he isn't gaining strokes in other areas. "I love what we're seeing from Cam Smith," he says, and McClure has an outright bet on him to win.

Gombas has six picks and a parlay on the two cards, including Gracie at -155 and Mandel Nallo -160 against Nick Browne in Bellator 274. In UFC, he likes Walker +210 in the main event. "Jamahal Hill is used to being the bigger guy in his fights," Andrew says. "Johnny Walker's probably the biggest 205-pounder in the division." Walker has a 2-inch height and 3-inch reach advantage, so Hill will be facing a new challenge against a bigger fighter.

Gombas also is taking Mark Striegel (+180), Jesse Strader (+225) and Gabriel Benitez (+150) to win their fights, and he is parlaying Kyle Daukaus in UFC and Isaiah Hockit on the Bellator card at a price of -132.

Micah is on the Auburn vs. Florida game, and he likes the defense of the Tigers, so he is taking them -4. UF hasn't played well recently, failing to cover in five straight. For Auburn, "everything is driven by their defense," Roberts says, and "defense travels well." The Tigers lead the nation with 8.5 blocked shots per game, two more than any other team in the nation, so he likes them on the road.

Perri has two college basketball picks, first taking St. Bonaventure -14.5 against Duquesne (6 p.m. ET), which has won one game since the calendar flipped to 2022. They have lost 10 straight since beating UMass last month and only covered the spread twice. Justin also has a money-line parlay with Kentucky, Auburn and Kansas at +234, but he says you need to jump on it as soon as possible to get the best price.
