Super Bowl 2020 49ers vs. Chiefs odds: Will there be a 2-point conversion?
Will either coach in Super Bowl LIV try a 2-point conversion and be successful?

The two-point conversion has only been a part of the NFL since the 1994 season. In Week 1 of that campaign, Cleveland's Tom Tupa scored the first 2-point conversion in NFL history, doing so on a faked PAT kicking try against the Cincinnati Bengals. Will there be a successful 2-point conversion in Super Bowl LIV between the San Francisco 49ers and Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday from Miami? No is a -375 favorite and yes at +275 on the DraftKings NFL odds. A $100 wager on yes would return $275 and it would take $375 to win $100 on no.
There have been 10 successful 2-point conversions in Super Bowl history. The first was in SB XXIX between the San Diego Chargers and the 49ers also played in Miami. Down 42-10 in the third quarter, the Chargers got a 98-yard kickoff return for a touchdown from Andre Coleman. They went for 2 and it was good with Mark Seay catching a pass from Stan Humphries. The Chargers went for 2 again following their next touchdown, and Humphries hit Alfred Pupunu. Those would be the final points of the game with the 49ers winning 49-26.
The last time there was a successful 2-point conversion as was also the last time there were two in one game: Super Bowl LI when the Patriots rallied from a 28-3 third-quarter deficit to shock the Falcons 34-28 in overtime. James White and Danny Amendola both had successful conversions in the fourth quarter – Amendola's tied the game at 28 with under a minute left in regulation.

San Francisco and Kansas City rarely went for 2 this season, averaging just 0.1 2-point attempts per game. Niners quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo did tie for seventh with two 2-point conversions this season, while Chiefs counterpart Patrick Mahomes had one. Both the Niners and Chiefs converted 50 percent of their 2-point tries overall.
The 49ers have not tried one in these playoffs. Neither have the Chiefs. William Hill sportsbook reports that its 10th-most popular prop on Super Bowl LIV via total tickets is bettors taking yes there will be a successful 2-point conversion.Â
