    SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS AT WASHINGTON REDSKINS (-10, O/U 46.5), Sun., 1 p.m. ET

After visiting Indianapolis last week, the Niners face another long plane ride to contemplate their fate: still winless, losers in two straight overtimes and four by a margin of three or fewer points.

They have won away from home just twice since the 2015 season began.

The Redskins are refreshed off a bye and, even if somewhat rusty, have an envious matchup that should keep them in contention for an NFC East title.

    LINE MOVEMENTS, TRENDS

The spread has reached double digits after debuting at -9.

In contrast to their straight-up record, the 49ers are a respectable 5-2 ATS in their past seven efforts. Neither team has thrived ATS coming off a bye: San Francisco is on an 0-4 slide, Washington 2-7.

    BREAKDOWN

San Francisco's offense, averaging 18.7 points per game dating to the 2016 finale, is holding it back. Even the reliable RB Carlos Hyde, disappeared last Sunday, with 11 yards on eight carries.

The defense has not been much better, with a No. 28 ranking for yards allowed, but is stingier for points allowed.

QB Bryan Hoyer is leaning heavily on WR Pierre Garcon (28 catches, 379 yards). That won't change here; Garcon, a Redskin until this season, will be pumped up.

The Redskins hope to make WR Jamison Crowder more Garcon-like. Fourteen catches to this point is below expectations, though it’s more because QB Kirk Cousins has not made him a priority.

The week off was not enough recovery time for Washington CB Josh Norman (ribs), while top RB Rob Kelley (ankle) appears unlikely to play.

The officiating crew has been unkind to the visitors. who top the league in penalties (49) and the resulting yards (385),
