Week 8's Teaser of the Week came through thanks to a pair of late touchdowns that were meaningless to who won and lost those games, but made a big difference for those who teased short underdogs up through the 3 and 7. First, the Buccaneers engineered an 11-play, 75-yard drive in just 83 seconds on Thursday night to cut their losing margin to five. Then, the Jets managed a six-play, 88-yard drive to score on the other side of the two-minute warning to also lose by five. That's why we tease these numbers.

This week, there was only one clear teaser leg on Tuesday when we typically release this column, but one day later there are more candidates to choose from. That includes the Jacksonville Jaguars, who are now 1.5-point home underdogs at home against a Raiders team that was just blanked by the Saints. Teasing the Jaguars up to +7.5 is a smart play on the surface, but I'm not making it one of my top two teaser legs this week.

The Raiders' awful performance might come down to an illness that spread in the locker room, and it's entirely possible the team that took the Chiefs to the brink shows up this week in Jacksonville. And even though the Jaguars haven't lost a game by multiple scores yet this year, I get the sense they're in a worse spot now than they were earlier in the year when there was some optimism they could win the AFC South as darkhorses.
