NFL Week 8 survivor pool picks: How Week 11 plays into strategy before deciding whether to back Colts

We're coming off another benign NFL survivor week with most participants in survivor pools advancing. In Week 7, the Steelers suffered the most notable loss, which took out about 4% of the remaining field in Circa Survivor. Another 10% had an all-time sweat with the Broncos down 19-0 at the beginning of the fourth quarter, but they found a way to score 33 points and beat the Giants by 1.

Kudos go out to the people who gambled on the Browns taking care of the Dolphins for getting through a relatively boring week without wasting anyone of note. The majority of Circa took either the Chiefs (which takes them off the board for both standalone holiday slate) or the Patriots, and saving those teams gives the Browns backers better future capital. We had the Browns as our third-best option for the slate last week behind the Bears and Broncos in 20-gameweek formats.

Week 8 starts with a Colts team hosting the Titans as at least 14-point favorites, giving the people who did not lean on them to get through Week 5 or 6 a pretty clear top option to consider. We'll go over whether it makes sense to use them now or continue to save the Colts for a later week below.

Other home options this week include the Chiefs as double-digit favorites for a second straight week and then six teams who are favorites of around a touchdown. Of those, only the Bills are on the road to take on the Panthers, while the Falcons, Eagles, Ravens, Patriots and Bengals are all at home. Should survivors roll the dice with the Bengals coming off an impressive win and taking on the woeful Jets, or do one of the other options make the most sense?
