NFL Week 6 survivor pool picks: Chaos week leaves those still alive eyeing Packers, Rams, Broncos and others
Who should you take in survivor this week? It depends on the type of pool you're in
Congratulations to those who survived the NFL season's first chaos week for survivor pools. The two most popular teams in Circa Survivor both went down with the Rams and Cardinals taking losses in games where you could argue they should've each won. In all, 21 different teams were selected in the Circa pool, and only nine ended up winning, though it was the two NFC West teams that took out 53.8% of the remaining pool.
I went down with the Rams, a team that had 7.1 yards per play on offense while allowing 4.9 yards per play on defense. The last 25 times a team had 7+ yards per play and allowed 5 or less, they won the game. But the Rams shot themselves in the foot time and again with missed kicks, a fumble at the goal line and some extremely questionable play calling in key situations.
The Cardinals' loss was perhaps more brutal, as the fumble going into the end zone that would've made the game 28-3 could only be blamed on the sloppiness of the ball-carrier. Another fumble looked like it would be recovered by the Cardinals but was instead battered around until it rolled into the end zone and was hopped on by a Titans player for another TD.Â

Those who survived mostly did so with the Colts and Lions, two teams that had no trouble securing the win. Those who burned the Lions gave up a key piece of the holiday slate strategy, but if you're going to do that, you want to do it in a chaos week where landmines are nearly unavoidable and bad luck goes against some of the other big favorites.
Week 6 brings one massive favorites in the Packers, who will face Joe Flacco for the second time this season after previously losing to the Browns in Week 3. Is that the best play for survivors, or should they move forward with what was likely everyone's preseason plan with a team no one planned to be an option in any other week?
We'll get into that decision below as we rank all the usable options for survivor pools this week. We'll break down the 18,656-entry Circa Survivor pool and then give out our best plays for both large and small pool participants for Week 6.
Why listen to me? I'm 718-623-37 and up more than 32 units on ATS picks over the last eight years and even better with my top five picks each week, going 464-379-27 (55%) over the last 10 years in the Las Vegas ATS contests. While survivor doesn't involve picking against the spread, I do believe by applying the strategies I've developed to have long-term success on those picks to survivor pools, we'll be in the best position to outlast the competition this season.
In Week 6, I've ranked several options for both small pool and large pool participants, weighing whether it's worth using what might be the consensus play or digging a little deeper into the options.
