NFL Week 15 best bets: Top five spread picks for premier NFL betting competition from proven expert

A brutal run of results in Week 14 leaves me playing out the string in the Circa Million after the Bears lost by seven in a close game, the Eagles turned the ball over five times and still nearly won and covered and the Broncos were denied a cover by a strange decision by Pete Carroll to kick a meaningless field goal in the final seconds. That questionable decision extends a string of ATS losses at the end of games this year down to absurd outcomes like a leverage penalty on a 60-yard field goal, a blocked field goal return for a meaningless touchdown and plenty of other hair-pulling moments.

All that's left to do is try to finish strong, and I'm not going to get too in the weeds with trying to avoid plays I think will be popular in the contest as I don't see it mattering at this point. I'll still try to avoid key numbers, though that's not going to be too hard this week with 14 of the 16 games featuring hooks and one of the others being a pick 'em.
