How's the saying go? Teams that are playing the best in December are your best bets to go a long way in the postseason – something like that?

Well, it is December and there are only five weeks remaining in the NFL regular season, which means Las Vegas football contests are into the final window of competition. If you are not playing your best right now, you are running out of time.

Eight entries remain in the $5K SuperSurvivor at Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook, and 45 entries remain in Circa Survivor with each ticket now assuming an inherent value of over $415K. The final quarterly contest begins this week in Circa Sports Million. Three mini-contests remain in play in the SuperContest. If one is deep off the pace in the standings for the overall – Circa Sports Million or Westgate SuperContest – then the mini-contests are your last chance to get hot and possibly cash in. If one is at the top of the leaderboard or close to being in the money in the standings, it is that time of the season in which contest strategy kicks in, in earnest.

Our team at the Las Vegas Football Contest Show (www.FootballContestShow.com) had an outside shot last week at finishing in the money for the 3rd Quarter contest in the Circa Sports Million. We rolled the dice with some outlier selections last week, but it did not fall our way as we went 2-2-1 and needed a 5-0 mark. We have been running well the last handful of weeks in the SuperContest and find ourselves in a position to possibly finish in the money, but the contrarian approach that existed last week for us in the Circa quarterly contest has to now be in place in the SuperContest. 

I have said here in this column since the beginning that bets that one makes personally are not necessarily the same plays one makes in contests. That could not be more true then in our current situation where we are not necessarily trying to just land on winning sides but rather, land on winning sides that nobody else is on.
