Passing: 1,025 passing yards, five TDs, two interceptions

    Fantasy Outlook in team city:

Hurts is a dazzling dual threat who can stir some fantasy intrigue in the longer term with his significant rushing potential. In  2019, he rushed for 1,298 yards, which was second in the nation among quarterbacks and 18th overall. He averaged 5.6 yards per carry and scored 20 touchdowns.

Hurts was 38-4 as a starter and was considered a team leader with a flair for winning in college. He has size, speed, and a strong arm. He seemed to improve as a mid-range and downfield passer in his final college season at Oklahoma after transferring from Alabama. But he will have to polish himself more to become a regularly effective pro QB when he gets the chance to start.

Hurts was an erratic passer who did not always make the most sound decisions in college. He has considerable eventual statistical promise as a fantasy QB, but there could be a lot of ups and downs if he is pressed into action at any point early on. Patience will have to be exercised if you intend to draft him in a dynasty league.

The Eagles obviously have signaled they are concerned about the durability of Carson Wentz, and after winning a Super Bowl with a backup, they place a high emphasis on their No. 2 QB slot. Landing in Philadelphia, though, is a major blow for Hurts' fantasy appeal. He will become a hot waiver add if and when Wentz gets hurt, but until then, Hurts won't be worth a roster spot in seasonal leagues and can only be a handcuff in two QB formats.

The dynasty outlook is now muddled for Hurts as well. He will be a later pick in rookie drafts and will have to be stashed in case of another Wentz injury. But his fantasy value could also rise at any moment in any type of league. Another Wentz medical issue and he will immediately become fantasy worthy because of his great promise as a dual threat QB.
