NBA News: Chris Bosh return remains a long shot
Chris Bosh said he's feeling healthy this week after being waived by the Heat, but the 11-time All-Star and two-time NBA champ remains a long shot to return to the NBA, according to a sportsbook.
The Chris Bosh era in Miami officially ended this week when he was waived by the Heat on Tuesday, and then thanked the city in an open letter.
It was a great run for Bosh, who, when teamed up with LeBron James and Dwyane Wade, appeared in four NBA finals, winning two of them.
The 11-time NBA All-Star has seen his role evolve numerous time since joining the Heat in 2010-11. He's been a complimentary piece, a leading scorer, a defensive specialist and has done just about anything imaginable for the franchise over the past six years.
Health concerns, primarily centering on his battle with blood clots, were the biggest factor in his time ending in Miami as he struggled to get clearance from doctors to play. Bosh sat out the 2016-17 season, and hasn't played a full NBA slate since 2013-14.
But Bosh was seen on video this week saying that his health is great, and that he hasn't ruled out a return to the NBA.
Exactly when and where Bosh might surface next remains uncertain. Of course there will be speculation of Bosh rejoining James and/or Wade in the future. He could be a veteran minimum addition for the Cavaliers or the Bulls this season, or could team back up with one or both in 2018-19, when they both can become free agents.
And then there's Ice Cube's new Big3 concept, a 3-on-3 league in its first season that has featured former NBA stars such as Allen Iverson, Kenyon Martin and Chauncey Billups.Â

Even with Bosh's statement that he's feeling good and not necessarily ready to hang it up, the odds still overwhelmingly point to him next being seen as an analyst -- not on the court.Â
But with contenders always looking for cheap veteran pieces -- especially ones with great jump shots -- to build depth, it wouldn't be stunning to see Bosh land on an NBA roster at some point in the next couple years if his health truly can hold up.
