Mets vs. Phillies odds, lines: Proven model reveals MLB picks for June 24, 2023 matchup

SportsLine's Projection Model has generated picks and best bets for the Philadelphia Phillies vs. New York Mets on Saturday afternoon

By@SportsLineUpdated: Jun 24, 2023 2:47PM UTC . 3 min read

The New York Mets (34-41) will try to snap out of their losing rut when they face the Philadelphia Phillies (39-36) on Saturday afternoon. New York has lost three straight games and four of its last five, falling to Philadelphia in a 5-1 final to open the series on Friday. Philadelphia has won seven of its last nine games, but it is still nine games back of Atlanta for first place in the National League East. Right-handed pitcher Max Scherzer (6-2, 4.04 ERA) is going to start for the Mets, while rookie left-hander Cristopher Sanchez (0-0, 3.24 ERA) will be on the mound for Philadelphia.

The game is slated to begin at 4:05 p.m. ET from Citizens Bank Park. The Mets are listed at -130 (risk $130 to win $100) on the money line in the latest Mets vs. Phillies odds from Caesars Sportsbook, while the over/under for total runs scored is 9. (see the latest lines for every game on our MLB odds page).

Before making any Phillies vs. Mets picks, you NEED to see the latest MLB predictions from the SportsLine Projection Model.

The SportsLine Projection Model simulates every MLB game 10,000 times. It went 331-285 on top-rated MLB money-line picks (+357) over the past two seasons. It has opened the 2023 MLB season on a 35-26 roll on all-top rated MLB picks. Anybody who has followed it has seen profitable returns!

The model knows the Mets have been winning games with Scherzer on the mound, including his start against Houston on Monday. He allowed one earned run while striking out eight batters across eight innings in an 11-1 win. Scherzer has already faced Philadelphia once this season, allowing one earned run in seven innings on June 1. He has struck out at least eight batters in four of his past five starts after failing to reach that mark in his first seven starts of the year.

The model also knows Philadelphia is trending in the right direction, winning 14 of its last 18 games to put itself back in playoff contention. Trea Turner had a two-run single and Brandon Marsh added three hits and an RBI in Friday's win. Sanchez threw four scoreless innings against Oakland in his latest start and likely would have pitched longer if not for a comebacker ricocheting off his pitching hand.

Now, it has set its sights on Mets vs. Phillies. We can tell you the model is leaning Over on the run total, and it also says one side of the money line has ALL the value! You ABSOLUTELY need to see it before locking in any MLB picks.
