It's a potential preview of Super Bowl LX on Monday Night Football to conclude Week 3 as the Lions (1-1) visit the Ravens (1-1) in a matchup of 2024 division winners. These teams rank 1-2 in the NFL in scoring offense and total offense over the past three seasons. Baltimore is -5 with a total of 53.5 points, the highest of the week.

How important is it for one of these teams to get to 2-1? Since 1990, teams that are 1-1 reach the playoffs 41.6% of the time. Over that same span, 2-1 teams play extra football 55.4% of the time compared to just 24.9% for 1-2 clubs. It we shorten that range to 2020 when the league expanded the playoffs, 2-1 clubs get to the postseason 64.3% of the time compared to 25.4% for 1-2 teams. In five of the past 10 seasons, the reigning Super Bowl champion has begun 3-0.

Baltimore remains the heavy -450 favorite to repeat in the AFC South, which became a lot easier to win with Joe Burrow's potential season-ending injury. Detroit is a two-time NFC North champion but a +255 second favorite behind unbeaten Green Bay (-130), which holds the early head-to-head tiebreaker but suffered its first loss on Sunday.

These were the top two offensive teams in the league in 2024 and the two highest-scoring teams in Week 2. They combined for 93 points, nine passing touchdowns and zero interceptions. Since 2021, when the Lions acquired QB Jared Goff from the Rams, Detroit ranks third in the NFL in points per game (26.7) and fourth in yards per game (376.8). Since 2018, when the Ravens selected QB Lamar Jackson in the NFL Draft, Baltimore ranks second in the NFL in both PPG (27.2) and YPG (379.0).

I personally thought these would be these teams that would meet in Super Bowl LIX and certainly think they could this February in Santa Clara, Calif., although I'm not nearly as high on Detroit as I was in 2024. This exact matchup is priced +2500. Baltimore is the +500 Super Bowl co-favorite with Buffalo.
