Our reads on these games have largely been on point. We could not have been more unlucky not to utterly clean up on every aspect of the Lions-Raiders debacle – we knew it would be a total mismatch – and had more bad beats than we'd care to repeat.

Sometimes you're so on a game that the score gets so lopsided it results in so much garbage time that the lesser team goes over its total anyway. Sometimes one team loses motivation early on and opts to go in a shell before anyone would expect. It happens. Sometimes it happens in bunches on the same weekend, along with ridiculous calls, mystery fumbles and, well, a tush push fumble that conspire to make what could have been a record day far more middling.

We're identifying the right kind of games. We'll stay on it.

However, I'm backing off the units after that run of terrible breaks. Everything ebbs and flows. This week has so many unknowns at quarterback. There's so much uncertainty and so much in flux. I don't love the slate of games nearly as much as others in recent weeks.
