Grizzlies vs. Lakers Monday NBA playoffs Game 4 odds, props, trends: Bettors split on spread, expect big scoring night from Ja Morant
The Grizzlies are down 2-1 in their playoff series vs. the Lakers.
The Memphis Grizzlies had the NBA's best home record this season but were 16-25 on the road and are 0-1 away in these playoffs entering Game 4 of their Western Conference first-round series at the Los Angeles Lakers on Monday. The Lakers are up 2-1 in the series and -4.5 at BetMGM with mixed spread action. There is heavy action on a Ja Morant scoring prop. Click here for model picks.
On the spread, 60% of bets but only 46% of money are on the Lakers. The total has risen from 220.5 points to 221.5 with 58% of bets and 50% of money on Over. At +165 on the moneyline, 50% of bets and 62% of money are on the Grizzlies.
There don't appear to be any injury concerns tonight. The Lakers are listing LeBron James, Anthony Davis and Dennis Schroder as probable, but they'll play. Grizzlies forward Dillon Brooks was called for a flagrant foul 2 and ejected only 17 seconds into the second half after he swiped his left hand into LeBron James' groin area in Game 3 but will not be suspended. Brooks has become Public Enemy No. 1 for Lakers fans.
The Grizzlies are 0-2 in this series with Morant playing and 1-0 when he sits. After missing Game 2 with a hand injury, he was in the starting lineup for Game 3 and blew up with 45 points, 13 assists and nine rebounds in the 111-101 loss. Morant now owns all three of the Grizzlies' 40-point playoff performances. He scored 22 straight points in the fourth quarter to try and lead a miracle comeback that came up short.
Over the last 25 postseasons, only two other players have scored at least 22 straight points for their team in a playoff game: James with 25 straight in 2007, and Kobe Bryant with 23 in a row in 2010. Morant is listed at over/under 28.5 points tonight and taking heavy action on the Over at -110.
The other two most popular player props are on Lakers: Over 13.5 points for Rui Hachimura at -105 and Over 23.5 points for Davis at -120. Hachimura has scored 29, 20 and 16 points in the three games. He is the first Lakers player since Luke Walton (2008) to score at least 15 points off the bench in three straight playoff games. Davis scored 31 points in Game 3, his only time topping 23.5 in the series.
On the updated series line, the Lakers are -400 favorites after opening as +115 underdogs. The Grizzlies are taking 60% of money and are currently priced +300.Â
