The New England Patriots (10-2) look to remain in the driver's seat for the top seed in the AFC as they host the struggling New York Giants (2-10) on Monday Night Football to conclude Week 13. The Pats are -7.5 with a total of 46.5 for the 8:15 ET kick only on ESPN.

MNF games have been pretty uninteresting of late with four of the past five decided by double digits and the one that wasn't saw just 17 total points scored. This obviously looks like a major mismatch with the eliminated Giants on one of the NFL's longest losing streaks at six straight and the Patriots tied for the league's longest winning streak at nine in a row.

At this point, New York is only playing for pride and to get some young players like rookie first-round quarterback Jaxson Dart some game experience. The Giants fired head coach Brian Daboll weeks ago, but that head coaching job might be the most alluring opening in the offseason largely because of Dart, who will return after missing the past two games in the concussion protocol.

For the AFC's top seed, it's essentially a two-team race between the Patriots (+115) and Broncos (+115). The SportsLine Projection Model does forecast New England to finish atop the AFC with 12.9 wins and gives it about roughly a 34% shot (equates to +194) to earn the top seed. The Pats, who finally have their bye in Week 14 (as do the Giants), don't play Denver (or Indianapolis, but the Colts are fading) in the regular season. The Patriots are -500 to win the AFC East and do so in 86.9% of the model's simulations. They could potentially wrap it up with a Week 15 home win over second-place Buffalo.
