Free Week 12 Office Pool Picks From Sportsline's Projection Model
The SportsLine projection model is ready to get your NFL Week 12 selections off to a solid start.
Â
With so much parity and so many team-altering injuries this NFL season, it can be a challenge to pick a winner straight up.
Then try choosing a side after the point spread is installed.
Week 12 of the season won’t get any easier. Of the 16 games on the slate, 12 of them feature teams within three games of each other in the win-loss docket. There are no "gimmes" out there. Just ask the Chiefs.Â
When it comes to picking a winner, straight up or against the spread, or predicting total points scored, having the SportsLine Projection Model has proven a game-changer to those looking for one.Â
The Projection Model definitely had another solid output in Week 11. In fact, it went against the grain a few times and came out on top, going 10-4 on its selections.
It projected the Jaguars and Patriots covering touchdown-sized spreads, and they each did.Â
It also had the Bengals going into Denver and covering against the Broncos. And they did, by winning outright.
It even predicted the Ravens going into Lambeau Field and not only winning, but covering. They rolled the Packers 23-0.
There’s a reason why the SportsLine Projection Model was ranked No. 1 by NFLPickWatch.com last season.Â
Each game is simulated 10,000 times to determine a winner, final score and player statistics.
Every game projection -- NFL, college football, NBA, NHL and more -- is available to SportsLine members. That includes a few surprising upset picks for Week 11 of the NFL.
Here are three projections for the coming week that should get your week kicked off right, starting with a Thanksgiving Day pick.
L.A. CHARGERS AT DALLAS
The Cowboys (5-5) have lost two straight and are on the outside looking in to the NFC playoff chase. But they’re 30-18-1 on Thanksgiving. This is their holiday.
Oddsmakers installed the Chargers as four-point road favorites, but the line has moved to an even Pick ‘em. The projection model has it close, too, putting Dallas on top 22-21.
But that’s well below the Over/Under line of 48. Simulations hit the Under 61 percent of the time.Â
CHICAGO AT PHILADELPHIA
The NFL’s top team, winners of eight in a row, hosting the downtrodden Bears? It doesn’t sound like much of a matchup, which is why Philly is a 13.5-point favorite.
According to the Projection Model, that’s not enough. SportsLine calls for a 32-13 rout by the Eagles, easily covering the spread. The Eagles cover in 63 percent of simulations.
SEATTLE AT SAN FRANCISCO
The Seahawks couldn’t rebound from a slow start on Monday night against Atlanta and have fallen one game behind the Rams in the NFC West. Oddsmakers are expecting a bounce-back against the one-win 49ers.
So is the projection model. Seattle is a seven-point favorite, but simulations call for a 25-15 victory. The Seahawks cover 53 percent of the time.
Note: Simulations run every 10 minutes and are subject to change. SportsLine members can always get the latest projected scores on our NFL picksheet.
