The SportsLine projection model is ready to get your NFL Week 9 picks off to a good start.

Looking to rally in your NFL pick ‘em pools? In elimination leagues? In a competitive CBS Sports Office Pool Manager?

If you followed the SportsLine projection model last week, your rally would already be in full force.

The computer program accurately picked a straight-up winner in 12 of the 13 games of Week 8.

On the season, SportsLine’s projections are 174-80-2 on NFL picks. That’s going to win you just about every pool out there.

Each game is simulated 10,000 times to determine a winner, final score and player statistics.

Every game projection – NFL, college football, NBA, NHL and more -- is available to SportsLine members. That includes several upset picks for Week 9 of the NFL.

Here’s three such projections that could get your picks kicked off:

ARIZONA AT SAN FRANCISCO

The Cardinals are a two-point road favorite, but SportsLine projects a 22-18 victory for the Niners, their first of the season.

San Francisco covers the spread in 65 percent of simulations and is rated a 90/100 value. The Niners win straight-up 61 percent of the time, a value of 82/100.

TAMPA BAY AT NEW ORLEANS

The surging Saints are a seven-point favorite against the struggling Buccaneers. SportsLine’s model calls the line too low, projecting a 31-21 New Orleans win.

The value of the pick against the spread is a solid 66/100, with the Saints covering 55 percent of the time.

INDIANAPOLIS AT HOUSTON

The Colts have two wins, the coach is on the hot seat and star QB Andrew Luck remains sidelined. But the defense has kept Indy from getting blown out of stadiums.

The Texans are a 13-point home favorite, and SportsLine’s projection has a 31-21 Houston victory.

While the Texans are a solid straight-up pick, the Colts cover in 56 percent of simulations.

Note: Simulations run every 10 minutes and are subject to change. SportsLine members can always get the latest projected scores on our NFL picksheet.
