Wolverhampton is within striking distance of qualifying for European competition as it prepares for Friday's visit to St. James' Park for an English Premier League match against Newcastle. Wolves (15-4-12) is in eighth place in the Premier League table but is just five points out of fourth with seven games left. The top four will play in next year's UEFA Champions League, fifth and sixth make the Europa League and seventh gets a berth in the Europa Conference League. The Magpies (7-10-13) are in 15th place and have lost three straight, but they have been strong on their home turf.

Kickoff is set for 3 p.m. ET. Caesars Sportsbook lists Newcastle as the +130 favorite (risk $100 to win $130) on the 90-minute money line in its latest Newcastle vs. Wolverhampton odds, with Wolves the +250 underdog. A draw is priced at +200 and the over-under for total goals scored is set at 2.5. (For the latest soccer news and analysis, click here

Before you lock in any Wolves vs. Newcastle or English Premier League picks, you really need to see what SportsLine soccer insider Brandt Sutton has to say.

Sutton, a former collegiate soccer player, has been SportsLine's top soccer editor for nearly five years. He has followed soccer closely for much longer and factors in managerial tactics, projected lineups and past performances to make the most informed decisions possible, keeping his finger on the pulse of the game all over the globe.

Sutton has also been on a roll with his best bets, going 11-3 in his last 14 soccer picks, returning over $600 for $100 bettors during that span.

Sutton knows Newcastle is favored because it does well at St. James' Park. The Magpies have taken at least one point in 10 of the 14 home matches (4-6-4) and scored 20 of their 33 goals there. They had not lost in the previous nine league games (6-3-0) before the current slide, and two of the  losses were to Chelsea and Tottenham. The ownership spent big money in the transfer window, and it has high expectations. Allan Saint-Maximin (five goals) and newcomer Chris Wood (four with two teams) form a potent attacking duo.

The insider also knows Wolves is one of the best defensive teams in the Premier League. It has allowed half as many goals as Newcastle (27-54). The Magpies have allowed the fourth-most in the league, Wolves the fourth-fewest. Goalkeeper Jose Sa has been one of the EPL's best, leading in save percentage (82.8) and ranking third in saves (102). Newcastle averages just 3.53 shots on target per game. Raul Jimenez (six goals, three assists) and Hwang Hee-Chan (five goals) are the leaders up front for Wolverhampton.

Sutton has taken an in-depth look at the Newcastle vs. Wolverhampton matchup and locked in his best bets. We can tell you he's going Over on the goal total, and he has another CONFIDENT best bet that returns plus-money and a full breakdown of the match. You ABSOLUTELY need to see his picks and analysis before making any selections of your own.
