Early Week 7 Fantasy Football waiver wire: Kimani Vidal steals show, plus 40 more pickups to consider
Here's how you should set bids on more than 40 players worth rostering
The Omarian Hampton injury in Week 5 left Fantasy managers needing short-term help at running back with a decision to make: prioritize Hassan Haskins or Kimani Vidal when putting in waiver wire bids for Week 6. Haskins ended up being the priority in aggregate, and he was 66% rostered in CBS leagues versus 56% for Vidal. A pregame report said Haskins would be the featured back as well, backing up that decision.
Once the game started against the Dolphins, it was a different story. Vidal saw the first carry and four touches in all on the first Chargers drive of the game. When all was said and done, Vidal had 21 touches for 138 yards and a touchdown while Haskins received seven touches for just 23 yards.
We cautioned against bidding too much on either player, considering how undecided the workload would be split and the potential short-term nature of Hampton's injury. Those who took the Vidal risk were handsomely rewarded in Week 6 and should have a usable Fantasy back for the next three weeks, provided the Chargers don't pursue outside help at the position. In leagues where he's still available, we'll cover how much we think it's worth bidding on Vidal in this week's waiver wire column.
Our waiver wire list features how much we're bidding on more than 40 other players at quarterback, running back, receiver and tight end. Let's dig in.
