Early Week 6 Fantasy Football waiver wire: Rashid Shaheed makes his case, plus key tight end emerges
Here's how you should set bids on more than 30 players worth rostering
Last week, we advised move with caution on Woody Marks, saying Nick Chubb "isn't going to go away in the offense and the Texans aren't going to have 30 carries to split between those guys most weeks." While he was our top pickup of the week, his 9% FAB recommendation likely did not make him a winning claim in most leagues where he was available. Fast forward to this past Sunday, and despite an incredibly favorable script in a rout of the Ravens, Marks saw just seven carries to 11 for Chubb (and seven for Dameon Pierce in mop-up duty).
That's the unfortunate downside of exciting waiver adds, as it's rare to see one turn into a weekly Fantasy asset with a high floor without injury factors at play. Marks is certainly someone to hang onto long-term if you already made the investment, but he may be a cautionary tale for others to not overbid on supposed breakout performances if the roles of those players could still be in flux.
Our top add last week aside from Marks was Rashid Shaheed, and it was right on time for one of his long touchdowns to make him a profitable Fantasy starter for at least one week. Now we look ahead to the best pickups for both short term and long term help, and we'll list FAB bids for all of them below. Our waiver wire list features how much we're bidding on more than 40 other players at quarterback, running back, receiver and tight end. Let's dig in.
