Eagles vs. Packers betting preview: Odds, picks, props, trends, injuries, weather and more for Week 10 Monday Night Football
Before you lock in your plays for Monday's Philadelphia at Green Bay NFL Week 10 game, check out our full betting preview.
In my humble opinion, the most important Monday Night Football game of the season is tonight's Week 10 matchup as the Philadelphia Eagles (6-2) visit the Green Bay Packers (5-2-1) for a potential preview of January's NFC Championship Game. The Packers are -1.5 with a total of 45.5 for the 8:15 ET kick on ABC and ESPN.
Not that the Packers wouldn't be duly motivated to beat the defending Super Bowl champions, but they'd surely like to deal out some payback for their two losses to the Eagles last season. The first was the season opener in Brazil, won 34-29 by Philadelphia behind three total touchdowns from Saquon Barkley in his Eagles debut. In a Wild Card Game back on Jan. 12 in Philly, the Eagles won 22-10. Barkley rushed for 119 yards and Jalen Hurts had two TD passes. Green Bay's Jordan Love tied a career high with three picks.
So why is this game the biggest of the season on MNF? The winner would have a crucial head-to-head tiebreaker for a possible playoff rematch and may well be the NFC's top seed -- although teams like the Buccaneers, Seahawks, Rams and Lions are certainly in the mix as well. The Rams are the current +220 favorites to get the top seed (+320 entering Sunday) with Philadelphia at +350 and Green Bay at +850. The Eagles win a tiebreaker with the Rams courtesy of a 33-26 home win in Week 3. I don't think the Packers get it, as they play in a very tough division.Â
Entering Week 10, the SportsLine Projection Model forecasted Tampa Bay to finish atop the NFC with 11.8 wins with Philadelphia third at 11.2 wins and Green Bay seventh at 10.1. Including this game, the Packers have the second-toughest remaining strength of schedule and the Eagles have the seventh-toughest.Â
I'm not going to bother with playoff percentages because they are so high for both teams. Philadelphia probably runs away with the lousy NFC East and is the biggest divisional favorite in the league at -300. Green Bay was +105 to win the NFC North entering Week 10; the model currently gives the Packers a 44.2% shot at winning it, which equates to +126. That would rise to 52.4% with a win and would fall to to 32.6% with a loss.Â
