Week 12 of the SEC is like the calm between two storms.

One has already passed through and left things a little shaken. Next time, things might really get mixed up.

The top four teams in the conference faced off on Saturday, and it shook up the national landscape.

Georgia, No. 1 in the College Football Playoff rankings, was throttled 40-17 at No. 10 Auburn. That move will cause major ripples in the race for the four coveted playoff berths.

Alabama then had to rally to survive at Mississippi State, 31-24. What that does to the standing of the Crimson Tide remains to be seen.

Alabama and Auburn, teams on an Iron Bowl collision course in two weeks with SEC title and College Football Playoff implications, play in non-conference games this weekend.

With a SEC championship berth already sewn up, Georgia isn’t completely out of the playoff picture. The Bulldogs, assuming they take care of Kentucky on Saturday and Georgia Tech after that, will get the Auburn/Alabama winner for the conference title.

The SportsLine Projection Model simulated college football games 10,000 times and came up with final scores and projected player statistics.
