Bucks vs. Heat Monday NBA playoffs Game 4 injury report, odds, trends: Bettors leaning Milwaukee with Giannis Antetokounmpo expected back in lineup
The Greek Freak is expected to return tonight for Milwaukee in Miami.
Down 2-1 in their Eastern Conference first-round series against the Miami Heat, the top-seeded Milwaukee Bucks should see the return of superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo to the lineup for the first time Monday night since Game 1 barring any setbacks. The Bucks were once as short as 3.5-point road favorites at BetMGM but are now -7.5Â and taking a solid lean at the book. Antetokounmpo is set at over/under 26.5 points. Click here for model picks.
As of this writing, 65% of the bets and 84% of the money are on the Bucks. The total of 217.5 points hasn't changed with 66% of the bets and 64% of the money on the Over. At +240 on the moneyline, 60% of the bets and 37% of the money are on Miami.
Giannis was limited to 11 minutes in Game 1 with a lower back contusion. He was upgraded from doubtful to questionable for Game 3 but eventually ruled out. While the Bucks trounced the Heat and scored 138 points in Game 2 without Giannis, they were held to 99 points in the Game 3 defeat. Antetokounmpo has not practiced with the team since injuring his back, but has been able to complete some individual work this weekend. The Bucks are 3-1 in postseason games all-time when Antetokounmpo does not play.
Khris Middleton led the Bucks in Game 3 with 23 points, passing Sidney Moncrief (1,451) for third place on the Bucks' all-time playoff scoring list. He now trails only Antetokounmpo (2,041) and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (1,692). Middleton is averaging 24 points per game in this series while shooting 52.0% overall and 41.2% from beyond the arc. His O/U is 19.0 points with Giannis back.
Miami lost starting guard Tyler Herro for 4-6 weeks to a broken hand in Game 1 and then key reserve guard Victor Oladipo to a season-ending torn patellar tendon in his left knee in Game 3. Oladipo had averaged 11.5 points in 22.5 minutes per game this postseason.
Heat star Jimmy Butler also went down in Saturday's game with a bruised glute and is questionable Monday, but is fully expected to play. Butler has scored at least 25 points in each game of the series, just the third Miami player to start a series with three straight 25-point games. He has an O/U of 28.5 points, and the Over is the most-wagered player prop at the book. Butler Over 0.5 3-pointers is second at -155.Â
The Heat, who ranked 25th offensively in the regular season, rank first offensively in the postseason, having scored 123.5 points per 100 possessions in three games against what was the league's fourth-ranked defense.
On the updated series line, the Bucks are -200 and Heat +165, with 67% of the bets and 91% of the handle coming in on Milwaukee.Â
