Broncos vs. Chargers Monday NFL odds, trends: Bettors backing Bolts, Austin Ekeler for touchdown
Denver visits the Los Angeles Chargers tonight and bettors are leaning towards the home side.
Over the course of Russell Wilson's (likely) Hall of Fame career, his teams are 29-19-3 against the spread in primetime games. However, Wilson is just 3-11 ATS in his past 14 such games – including 1-2 this year with his new Broncos team (1-2 straight up as well). Denver is a 4.5-point underdog tonight at the Los Angeles Chargers, and the Bolts are taking 69% percent of the tickets at BetMGM and 64% of the money. Wilson is 9-2 ATS in for his career as underdog of at least four points. The two most-wagered player props are on Los Angeles running back Austin Ekeler.
The Broncos will be without inside linebacker Josey Jewell and safety Caden Sterns tonight. Jewell did not practice this week, while Sterns did not practice Saturday after being limited on Thursday and Friday. However, safety Justin Simmons is expected to be activated off injured reserve and play. Running back Melvin Gordon is questionable but expected to go.
The Chargers are expected to again be without Pro Bowl receiver Keenan Allen as he deals with a hamstring injury. Center Corey Linsley has been downgraded to questionable with an illness. Kicker Dustin Hopkins will return after missing a game.
As for Ekeler, the most-wagered prop at BetMGM is on him to score the game's first touchdown at +450 and then to score an anytime TD at -225. He comes off a career-high 173 rushing yards and a score as well as a receiving TD in a Week 5 victory in Cleveland. The third most-wagered prop is on Denver receiver KJ Hamler Over 22.5 receiving yards at -120. He has just four targets and two catches for 65 yards on the year.
The total is set at 46 points and 78% of the tickets are on the Under and 68% of the money. The Under has hit in all three Denver primetime games thus far and those games are averaging only 25.0 total points scored. The Broncos rank 31st in the league in scoring offense (15.0 points per game), 30th in third-down conversion percentage at 31 and last in red-zone TD percentage at 21%.Â
