There's another Monday Night Football doubleheader this week, but it's a staggered start. The first kickoff at 7:15 ET on ESPN is Jets-Dolphins, and they are a combined 0-6 with bleak 2025 forecasts. Thus, it's an easy call to focus on the 8:15 start on ABC between the Bengals (2-1) and Broncos (1-2). That's the game Joe Buck and Troy Aikman will be calling. Denver is a 7.5-point home favorite with a total of 44.5.

Cincinnati was destroyed 48-10 in Week 3 at Minnesota in its second game since Joe Burrow was lost until at least December with a toe injury that required surgery. The Bengals reportedly weren't interested in trading for Kirk Cousins when that first happened but perhaps another rough outing from Jake Browning will change things. He threw two more picks in the Vikings loss to fall to 4-4 in his NFL career as a starter and had a league-high five INTs entering Week 4 in just two games played.

That was the worst loss in Bengals history and the 31-point halftime deficit tied the largest in franchise annals. It also snapped Cincy's seven-game winning streak and dropped it to 8-23 without Burrow under coach Zac Taylor (since 2019). Perhaps Cousins could at least steady the ship and keep the Bengals in playoff contention until Burrow returns, but Cincinnati doesn't currently have the salary cap space to acquire Cousins' big contract.

Denver could easily be 3-0 as it has lost back-to-back games to the Colts and Chargers on walk-off field goals. The Broncos defense, led by 2024 NFL Defensive Player of the Year and cornerback Patrick Surtain II, has folded late the past two weeks. The Colts had drives of 81 and 41 yards for field goals on their final two possessions, while the Chargers went 76 yards on seven plays to tie the score at 20, then drove 43 yards on eight plays for the game-winning field goal. It is yet another slow start after Denver began 2024 at 0-2 and 2023 at 1-5.
