Bears vs. Commanders betting preview: Odds, picks, props, trends, injuries, weather and more for Week 6 Monday Night Football

Whenever there is a Monday Night Football doubleheader like there is again in Week 6, I'll generally look at both games in the daily newsletter but focus on one as the official SportsLine betting preview. While Bills-Falcons might be a fine matchup tonight for the 7:15 p.m. ET kick on ESPN, there was no way I wasn't doing Bears-Commanders in the 8:15 ET window on ABC. Joe Buck and Troy Aikman will be on the call for that one as well. Washington is -5.5 with a total of 49.5, and weather might be a factor in Maryland.

The last thing I want to see is potential rain ruin a head-to-head showdown of Heisman Trophy-winning QBs Caleb Williams and Jayden Daniels, the top two picks in the 2024 NFL Draft. Maybe this will become the NFC's version of the Patrick Mahomes vs. Josh Allen rivalry. Anytime quarterbacks go in the top two spots, they will be compared throughout their careers.

Obviously, the jury is still somewhat out on Williams and Daniels in Year 2, but Daniels has the early professional edge including last year's epic head-to-head victory on a Hail Mary. The Commanders will be wearing their all-black alternate uniforms Monday, the same as that game. One edge Chicago will have is coming off a bye week, although the team's recent mark off a bye is horrific.

Tonight will be only the second matchup between the historic franchises on Monday night. First-year Bears coach Ben Johnson is 0-1 on MNF after Chicago blew a big lead in Week 1 at home vs. Minnesota. Washington's Dan Quinn is 6-1 on MNF including his time as Atlanta's head coach.
