2026 NFL MVP best bet rankings: Top 20 features best values, plus a 300-to-1 longshot we actually love
We rank our top 20 MVP bets in the market and highlight five sleepers to know at longer than +10000 odds

Last year, the betting market expected the NFL MVP race to be largely between Josh Allen, Patrick Mahomes, Joe Burrow and Lamar Jackson, with Jayden Daniels close to that group in odds. By the end of the year, only one of that group received any MVP votes at all, with Allen finishing third in the voting. Instead, the race came down to Matthew Stafford (+3500) and Drake Maye (+6000), with the veteran barely edging out the second-year player.
I had Stafford's odds as about right and Maye as an interesting sleeper in my NFL MVP best bet rankings last year, with neither sitting high enough to claim any credit with how the race unfolded. But I did have Christian McCaffrey, who finished fourth in the voting, high in my longshot rankings at +15000, and I also tabbed Daniel Jones at +50000 as a potential longshot pick, which looked in play over the first half of the season. As someone who had a Sam Darnold ticket during his Vikings breakout, I can tell you there isn't much more thrilling than having an extreme longshot play that feels like it has a chance to win deep into the season.
I'm going to highlight a few longshots I like this year before we get into the 2026 NFL MVP best bet rankings, where I'll break the candidates into tiers and hopefully identify the best candidates to pull a Stafford-Maye and end up surprising leaders of the MVP race this year if it's not one of the favorites we're using to seeing dominate the discussion.
