The Heisman Trophy is traditionally a quarterback award. Fourteen of the last 18 winners have been quarterbacks. However, last season was one of the exceptions when receiver/cornerback Travis Hunter took home the Heisman. 

Not surprisingly, out of the 15 players with the shortest odds to win the 2025 Heisman Trophy, 14 are quarterbacks. The favorite is Texas' Arch Manning (+500), followed by LSU's Garrett Nussmeier (+700) and Clemson's Cade Klubnik (+800). The one non-quarterback is Ohio State's sensational sophomore receiver Jeremiah Smith (+1000).
