McLaren has been the dominant force in Formula 1 this season, but Red Bull Racing and Mercedes were both offered a glimmer of hope at the Canadian Grand Prix when the two teams combined to box McLaren out of the podium picture. Now they'll look to build on that momentum after an off week at the 2025 Austrian Grand Prix on Sunday, which will be held at Red Bull Ring in Spielberg. Lando Norris claimed pole position in qualifying and he's the -225 favorite (risk $225 to win $100) at DraftKings. Teammate Oscar Piastri has five wins already this season and the leader in the F1 standings he is next in the 2025 Austrian Grand Prix odds at +285.

The lights go out at 9 a.m. ET on Sunday and the race is scheduled for 71 laps around the 10-turn, 2.683-mile circuit. SportsLine's proven computer projection model simulated the 2025 Austrian GP 10,000 times, creating a surprising leaderboard.

Developed by daily Fantasy pro and SportsLine predictive data engineer Mike McClure, this proprietary Formula 1 prediction model takes into account a slew of factors, including track history and recent results.

The model has been scorching hot when it comes to picking Formula 1 race events dating back to 2021. It nailed both of Charles Leclerc's wins in 2022, and at the 2021 Mexican Grand Prix, the model was strongly backing Verstappen as its top pick. The result: Verstappen dominated the field and ran away with a surprising victory.

It followed that up by calling Verstappen's win at the Rolex Emilia Romagna GP in April and nailed Verstappen to win in Belgium, the Netherlands, Japan, the United States, Mexico and Abu Dhabi. It also called all 19 of Verstappen's wins during the 2023 season and nailed each of his first seven wins in 2024.

It also predicted Lando Norris's 2024 wins in the Netherlands (+200), Singapore (+190) and Abu Dhabi (+250) as well as his wins at the Australian GP (+185) and Monaco GP (-150) in 2025. It also predicted Piastri's wins in Bahrain (-275) and Saudi Arabia (-105). Anyone who followed the model's lead on those plays has seen HUGE returns!

Now, the model has dialed in on the 2025 Formula 1 Austrian Grand Prix and just released its coveted picks and leaderboard projections.

We can tell you the model is backing Nico Hulkenberg of Kick Sauber finish top 10 (+220) and record points for a third consecutive week. The 37-year-old German is in his 15th season as a Formula 1 driver and he's on the verge of driving himself into the top half of the F1 standings after fifth and eighth-place finishes the last two weeks.

Last year while driving with Haas, Hulkenberg finished sixth at the Austrian Grand Prix, which was tied for his best finish of the season and was also tied for his best finish at Red Bull Ring (2015). Things appear to be trending up for Kick Sauber as its managed to dig itself out of the cellar of the F1 constructors' standings and get into a four-way battle for sixth.

The model has also made its win prediction and is also targeting one significant underdog to make a charge up the leaderboard! Anyone who backs this driver could hit it BIG. You ABSOLUTELY need to see who he is before locking in any Formula 1 Austrian GP picks of your own.
