2024 NFL Betting Mock Draft: How the odds market is projecting entire first round one week out

With draft position over/unders coming out this week, we put together a market-based mock draft

The NFL Draft is just one week away, and sportsbooks have finally begun to release their over/unders on specific draft slots for many of the key prospects expected to go in the first round. For example, Marvin Harrison has a line of 4.5 at Circa Sports, with his Over at +265 and his Under at -330 as of Thursday. Under bettors win if he is taken in the first four selections (making his final draft position No. 1, 2, 3 or 4), and Over bettors win if he's drafted at No. 5 or later. The heavy juice on the Under tells you that the betting market fully expects Harrison to be off the board by the time the draft gets to the fifth pick.

Every prospect projected to go after Harrison in the first round has a line set by sportsbooks, as do fringe first-round prospects like Washington's Michael Penix Jr. and Oregon's Bo Nix at quarterback, Georgia's Ladd McConkey and Florida State's Keon Coleman at receiver, and even players deeper in the draft like Michigan running back Blake Corum and South Carolina quarterback Spencer Rattler. By compiling these lines, we can get a good read on where the market roughly expects each player to be selected.

I've done that work in order to put together a market-based mock draft, which you can find below. There are instances where trades must be considered -- for example, J.J. McCarthy is a -150 favorite to be taken in the first five picks but is not a fit for the Cardinals at No. 4 or the Chargers at No. 5. That has led me to generate eight first-round trades in order to match prospects with teams that make sense at parts of Round 1 that make sense, all based upon how the betting market is pricing the 2024 NFL Draft one week out.

Below, you can find the two teams that trade into the top 10, how Denver is able to land a QB like the market is projecting at the right cost, how far the Bills trade up to land a receiver and plenty more. I'll plan on having one more update on this market-based mock draft at CBS Sports the day before the draft, and when comparing the two plus the mock we did one month out from the draft, we can see how all these players have trended in the run up to Draft Day. Let's dig into the picks.
