The 2023 Formula 1 season will continue this weekend with the 2023 Las Vegas Grand Prix on the Las Vegas Strip Circuit. The green flag is scheduled to drop at 1 a.m. ET on Sunday. This will be the third race in the United States this season and Max Verstappen will be looking to complete the season sweep after winning in Miami and Austin. Verstappen has already clinched his third consecutive drivers' championship and his team Red Bull Racing has also clinched the constructors' championship. However, everybody in the field will be looking to capture a piece of history as the first-ever winner of the event and weather could be a factor with the Las Vegas Grand Prix forecast calling for overnight temperatures on race day to dip near the 40s.

Verstappen is the -250 favorite (risk $250 to win $100) in the 2023 Las Vegas Grand Prix odds having won 26 of the last 31 races held in Formula 1. Ferrari's Charles Leclerc is at +195, followed by Georgia Russell (+1800) the trio of Lewis Hamilton, Carlos Sainz and Sergio Perez all at +5000 and Fernando Alonso at +7000. No other driver is listed lower than +20000.

SportsLine's proven computer projection model simulated the Las Vegas Grand Prix 2023 10,000 times and come up with a surprising leaderboard. Developed by daily Fantasy pro and SportsLine predictive data engineer Mike McClure, this proprietary Formula 1 prediction model takes into account a slew of factors including track history and recent results.

The model has been scorching hot when it comes to picking Formula 1 race events dating back to 2021. It nailed both of Charles Leclerc's wins in 2022, and at the 2021 Mexican Grand Prix, the model was strongly backing Verstappen as its top pick. The result: Verstappen dominated the field and ran away with a surprising victory.

It followed that up by calling Verstappen's win at the Rolex Emilia Romagna GP in April and nailed Verstappen to win in Belgium, the Netherlands, Japan, the United States, Mexico and Abu Dhabi. It has also called all 17 of Verstappen's wins to start the 2023 seasonAnyone who followed the model's lead on those plays has seen HUGE returns!

This will be the first-ever Las Vegas Grand Prix but it will not be the first time that Formula 1 has raced in Las Vegas. The Caesars Palace Grand Prix was held on a special-made track in the parking lot of the famed casino and hotel in 1981 and 1982. The Las Vegas Strip Circuit won't share anything in common with that track, as the 17-turn, 3.853-mile street circuit will wind its way through downtown Las Vegas. That includes a lengthy straightaway down Las Vegas Boulevard and a cornering section around the Las Vegas Sphere.

Now, the model has dialed in on the 2023 Formula 1 Las Vegas Grand Prix and just released its coveted picks and leaderboard projections.

We can tell you the model is fading Hamilton even though he's tied for fourth in the odds and is a seven-time world champion. Hamilton is an all-time great of the sport who was competing for an eighth world championship until the final lap of the 2021 season. However, the emergence of Verstappen and the downfall of Mercedes has left him without a win over his last 43 races. Hamilton is currently third in the 2023 F1 standings, which is an improvement over his sixth-place finish in 2022. However, he's only had one podium finish in his last five starts and two in his last 10 after a very disappointing eighth-place finish in Sao Paolo two weeks ago.

The model is targeting a MASSIVE triple-digit underdog to finish on the podium! Anyone who backs this driver could hit it BIG. You ABSOLUTELY need to see who he is before locking in any Formula 1 Las Vegas GP picks of your own.

So who wins the 2023 Formula 1 Las Vegas Grand Prix, and which MASSIVE longshot finishes on the podium? ... Join SportsLine right now to see the full projected F1 Las Vegas GP leaderboard, all from the model that has nailed its racing picks the last two years, and find out!
