Saturday is a major day of racing at Keeneland Race Course in Lexington, Ky., with five stakes races, including three Grade 1s. The card is highlighted by the 2022 Claiborne Breeders' Futurity and 2022 Coolmore Turf Mile. The Todd Pletcher-trained Forte is the 3-1 morning-line favorite in the 2022 Claiborne Breeders' Futurity odds. Post time for the race is 5:14 p.m. ET. That race will be followed by the 2022 Coolmore Turf Mile. The Brendan Walsh-trained Santin is the favorite in the Coolmore Turf Mile odds.

Another surprise: In the Coolmore Turf Mile 2022, Menez is fading Santin, even though he is the 7-2 morning-line favorite. "He's definitely improving, but his two wins this year came on a quirky turf course at Churchill Downs at nine furlongs," Menez says.

Instead, Menez's top pick in the Breeders' Futurity is a horse who "has the pedigree to go two turns and excel at longer distances." In the Turf Mile, he is picking a horse who is "dangerous at a nice price." He also is high on a double-digit longshot in one of the races who has a "big chance at a huge price."
