2020 NFL Draft odds: With the fourth pick, the New York Giants may take Tristan Wirfs

The New York Giants are expected to target an offensive lineman with the fourth overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, and we project that to be Iowa's Tristan Wirfs.

The 2020 NFL Draft is now less than two weeks away, and the first two picks are all but locks: Cincinnati will take LSU quarterback Joe Burrow at No. 1 overall and Washington will take Ohio State defensive end Chase Young at No. 2. Previously, we have projected the Detroit Lions at No. 3 to take Buckeyes cornerback Jeff Okudah – if they stay at that spot. There's talk that Detroit is hoping to trade down.

The New York Giants also could trade down from No. 4 overall, but if they stay put we project them to take Iowa offensive tackle Tristan Wirfs. That he is picked by New York is a yes-only prop at William Hill sportsbook priced +250 ($100 wager returns $250). The site also gives Wirfs an Over-Under draft position of 8.5, with the Under a -125 favorite. That Wirfs is the first offensive lineman off the board is a +150 favorite, with Louisville's Mekhi Becton next at +163.

On the CBS Sports Big Board, Wirfs is rated as the No. 9 overall player and No. 2 offensive lineman behind Alabama's Jedrick Willis Jr. The 6-foot-5, 320-pound Wirfs set a record for his position at the NFL Combine with a vertical jump of 36.5 inches. He also ran a 4.85 40-yard dash (first among all offensive linemen) and did 24 reps on the bench press.

Wirfs was named Offensive Lineman of the Year in the Big Ten for the Hawkeyes in 2019, starting 10 games at right tackle and three at left.  Wirfs will become the 11th Iowa offensive lineman selected in the first round. Nine of those have come under current head coach Kirk Ferentz, most recently Brandon Scherff at No. 5 overall to the Washington Redskins. He has made three Pro Bowls.

The highest-drafted Iowa offensive lineman was Robert Gallery at No. 2 overall in 2004 to the Raiders. Eli Manning went No. 1 that year to the Chargers but was immediately traded to the Giants.
