Leipzig were itching to return to footy after holiday break, but their return was cut short after weather conditions saw their first match back postponed against St. Pauli. Now, with some adidtional rest, the team will be ready for their return in front on their home fans, against a club they love to score goals against. Over 2.5 goals has hit in 5/7 matches head to head, and in 4/5 in Bundesliga play. Freiburg attacked looked strong last weekend, and I expect both teams to find the back of the net (Add BTTS to get the juice down)
Outside of the mighty Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund, there is no team as devastating in Germany when playing at home than RB Leipzig. They have played seven matches at home this season while pickup up 18 points. Players like Christoph Baumgartner and Yan Diomande have really stepped up to fill that attacking void left in the off season. While Freiburg is a good team, and I believe they will score, Leipzig are normally good for 2-3 goals at home by themselves.
Hoffenheim were another club that had their first match returning from break postponed due to weather. This team, similar to RB Leipzig will be itching for the chance to return to the pitch. Hoffenheim have been fantastic for overs when playing at home having hit it in all but one home match this season. Also, to my head-to-head fans, BTTS has hit the last 10 times these two have played, and over 2.5 goals has hit in seven matches straight. Take BTTS + Over 2.5 goals to get the juice down if you want!
When you're going up against the giants of the Bundesliga, everything has to go perfectly for you to stand a chance. Your offense needs to be firing on all cylinders, your defense needs to be air tight, and your tactics have to be perfect. Koln are scoring goals right now, but their defense is going to be a massive problem. Koln have failed to keep a clean sheet in their last 12 matches across all competitions, and are in for a rough time against a reinvigorated Bayern attack.
Bayern Munich returned from break with a level of ferocity that shocked even the most veteran Munich supporters. They took the field against Wolfsburg and put up a shocking eight goals as they took down Wolfsburg 8-1. Those eight goals featured five different goal scorers, with Olise, Guerreiro, Kane, Diaz and Goretzka all finding the score sheet. They now play a slightly better Koln side, but I see no reason why to bet on an under when we've seen Bayern hit over 3.5 goals in their last 11 matches straight across all competitions.
Wolfsburg played their first match back after the holiday break against the giants of Bavaria. They did manage to score a goal against Bayern Munich, but the final score ended in an 8-1 defeat to Wolfsburg. This match was after they lost the lead twice, losing to Freiburg 4-3 to lose their last match of 2025. This morale beatdown added to the fact that Wolfsburg have only won a single time at home this season, makes me think that St. Pauli, unbeaten in their last five matches, will find at least a draw.
Since November of last year Wolfsburg have been an absolute delight for those who love goals. Their last eight matches of Bundesliga play have all seen both teams finding the back of the net, while seven of those eight matches also saw over 2.5 goals cashing. Over those games, we've also seen over 3.5 goals hit six, over 4.5 in three, and over 6.5 and even 8.5 cash as well. Wolfsburg defense is horrendous, so even though St. Pauli likes to play slow, even they'll be motivated to press for goals.
