James Madison is playing red hot right now and are on the cusp of crashing the CFP party. They're ranked 21st in the country but are still in need of both a victory and style points. What's good about the matchup they face here against Washington State is that the Cougars are an awful team who can provide just what the doctor ordered for the Dukes.

Wazzu still needs one more win for bowl eligibility, but the Cougs have been playing well enough since late September, with their only spread loss the last six a bitter 10-7 loss at Oregon State in a Pac-12 showdown three weeks ago. Defense, strafed for 59 points in back-to-back weeks by North Texas and Washington in September, has only allowed 20 points across the past three games, allowing QB Zevi Eckhaus to play it cautiously and concentrate on field position that has been flipping to the Cougs' favor. JMU remains in the mix for a bye into the 12-team playoff but needs to be careful about this non-conference game in front of the Sun Belt challenges...plus a potential place in the playoffs. Play WSU
