This number apparently isn't budging off the 2.5, but it might not matter if Miami QB Henry Hesson fails to substantially improve from his horrid starting debut. Stepping in for DeQuann Finn, who quit suddenly to focus on training for the NFL, Hesson was 11-for-38 with three picks as the Redhawks managed a measly field goal against Toledo. Hesson figures to show progress, though much is needed against the MAC's second-best defense. The Bulls can make their guests rue the departure of Finn. Home teams are thriving in the series, with seven consecutive SU and ATS wins.
Miami-O isn't the only team struggling minus its top QB. In the RedHawks' case, transfer Dequan Finn, a former MAC MVP at Toledo and at the controls for much of 2025, decided to leave the program last week to prepare for the NFL. Not a good look for Miami, especially as the drop-off to backup Henry Hesson is severe; Hesson was only 11 for 38 thru the air last week in a 24-3 loss at Toledo. This is mostly an anti-Miami vote minus Finn and likely with Hesson at QB, though Buffalo has had enough high points this season to trust the Bulls, whose offense, while not dynamic, is at least somewhat balanced, and whose 34th-ranked defense has been resilient enough this season.
