The Sun Belt yearly continues to be a cash cow in bowl season. We saw James Madison and South Alabama win and cover ATS with their backup quarterbacks under center. Sam Houston was a great turn around story from last year’s first season in division one. Their comeback win over Texas State down 21-0 in the first quarter was one of the best comebacks on the season. Yet, they faltered against even level competition. With head coach KC Keeler off to Temple and a ton of players in the transfer portal, there are legitimate questions as to who will actually play for Sam Houston in this New Orleans Bowl. The Bearkats went under this total in 9 of 12 games this year including six straight, so unless Georgia Southern scores in the 30s against them, I have a hard time seeing the over hitting. If Keeler had stayed and the transfer portal were not a factor, I would've been fairly confident in a Sam Houston victory. But with the uncertainty, I like the Eagles in one of the more unremarkable games of bowl season. Georgia Southern 24, Sam Houston State 13.
