Lafayette is a good FCS team ranked 19th in the preseason poll, but I still think Buffalo should be higher than this even if the Bulls were picked to finish 10th in the MAC under new new coach Pete Lembo. He did a decent job in the transfer portal in landing a handful of power conference guys. Buffalo should be solid defensively with seven starters back led by All-MAC linebacker Shaun Dolac. He was hurt in the fourth game of 2023 and didn't return but was first-team All-MAC the year before, ranking second in the nation in tackles with 147. UB is 11-3 in its past 14 home openers, and new Buffalo coaches have won four straight openers.
