Understanding Public and Money

Think of 'Public' as the percentage of people betting on each side and 'Money' as how much money is being bet. When there's a big difference between the 'Public' and 'Money' data, it usually means that the more serious bettors (referred to as 'Sharp Money') are favoring a particular side.

Tom's Analysis:

I don't know how long it'll last as books are catching on with their totals, but we bet Service Academy Unders blindly. Why? Well, because the Under is 41-9-1 in games between academies since the 2005 season. Option teams run the ball over 80% of the time, the clock keeps moving, limiting possessions, and fewer possessions leads to fewer scoring opportunities. It's science.

Matt's Analysis:

This is similar to me taking the Over last week when it was tiny in Iowa-Rutgers. That's my only reasoning: Too low. All I realistically need is Air Force to score 28 points as I'd think Navy can get to 10. The Falcons might top this total themselves as they have scored at least 40 in each home game so far. It may surprise you to know that as Navy ranks No. 2 in the nation in passing yards per completion (25.7) and Air Force is third (24.8). Of course, they each only pass about 5-10 times per game. AFA leads the nation in rushing. The SL Model has 52 points being scored.
