North Carolina QB Sam Howell, a pending NFL draftee, is hanging around for a swan song, almost assuring a healthy score. UNC games average 68 points, and Gamecocks pass rusher J.J. Enagbare, a soon-to-be pro, has taken a pass, so Howell should have time to throw. Draw a line through South Carolina’s season-ending shutout against Clemson. The three previous games, the Gamecocks scored 40, 28 and 21.

DUKE’S MAYO BOWL: The trend is your friend, and the Under is 5-6 in South Carolina games this year including its last two contests. I fully expect the Gamecocks offense to struggle against a Tar Heels defense that has given up 360 yards or fewer in each of its last two games. North Carolina will gear it down in the second half after building a big lead over the Gamecocks.
