Myrtle Beach Bowl -- I think we've seen already regarding bowls that teams really glad to be there tend to win. I think Old Dominion fits that category as the Monarchs won their final five games to get bowl eligible. Blake Watson rushed for more than 100 yards in four of those victories, It's only the second bowl game in ODU history and first since 2016. Wish I had gotten this at 9 like Tom Fornelli did not long ago but it's coming down.

These teams are similar in a lot of ways, but there are a few key differences. Old Dominion is better at finishing drives on offense, and much better keeping teams from doing so on defense. Both turn the ball over too often to be comfortable with either, but Tulsa turns the ball over more than almost every team in the country. QB Davis Brin has 16 TD to go with 16 INT. It's hard to trust that kind of team as nearly a double-digit favorite.

MYRTLE BEACH BOWL -- Both teams finished the regular season on an upswing, with credit going primarily to the offenses. Tulsa rang up 44 and 34 points during its closing stretch. Old Dominion ended with five consecutive wins, scoring 56 and 47 points in two of them with 30 in another. The Golden Hurricane went Under on only one-third of its games. The Monarchs’ assent is directly tied to the promotion of Hayden Wolff to starting QB at midseason.
